چکیده

In the title zwitterion, C(7)H(14)N(2)O(3), the ethyl-amino and the 5-oxo groups are positionally disordered with occupancy ratios of 0.50:0.50 and 0.70:0.30, respectively. The terminal ethyl -CH(3) group undergoes considerable thermal motion. In the crystal, mol-ecules are linked via N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds, forming a two-dimensional arrangement propagating in the bc plane.

Inhibition by theanine of binding of [3H]AMPA, [3H]kainate, and [3H]MDL 105,519 to glutamate receptors.

In an investigation of the mechanisms of the neuroprotective effects of theanine (gamma-glutamylethylamide) in brain ischemia, inhibition by theanine of the binding of [3H](RS)-alpha-amino-3-hydroxy-5-methylisoxazole-4-propionic acid (AMPA), [3H]kainate, and [3H](E)-3-(2-phenyl-2-carboxyethenyl)-4,6-dichloro-1-H-indole-2-carboxylic acid (MDL 105,519) to glutamate receptors was studied in terms ...

Crystal structure of 3-[4-(pyrimidin-2-yl)piperazin-1-ium-1-yl]butanoate

The title compound, C12H18N4O2, crystallizes in the zwitterionic form with protonation at the N atom of the piperazine ring bearing the carboxylate group. The piperazine ring adopts a slightly distorted chair conformation. In the crystal, N-H⋯O hydrogen bonds are observed, forming chains along [010]. The packing is consolidated by C-H⋯O inter-actions, which generate a three-dimensional network.

Alteration of Mevalonate Pathway in Rat Splenic Lymphocytes: Possible Role in Cytokines Secretion Regulated by L-Theanine

L-Theanine is a nonprotein amino acid in tea, and its immunomodulatory function has been confirmed. This study aimed to investigate the effect of L-theanine addition on cytokines secretion in rat splenic lymphocytes and explore its potential immunomodulatory effects on the mevalonate biosynthetic pathway. Our results showed that L-theanine treatment did not influence the proliferation and divis...

The involvement of L-type amino acid transporters in theanine transport.

L-Theanine has favorable physiological effects in terms of human health, but the mechanisms that transport it to its target organs or cells are not completely defined. To identify the major transport mechanisms of L-theanine, we screened for candidate transporters of L-3H-theanine in several mammal cell lines that intrinsically express multiple transporters with various specificities. All of th...

Roots of Hydroponically Grown Tea (Camellia sinensis) Plants as a Source of a Unique Amino Acid, Theanine

The beneficial effects of green tea are well documented. However, most research has reported the effects of green tea brewed solely from leaves or leaf extracts. We focused on tea roots and developed a hydroponic system to explore the effect on roots that biosynthesize one of the rarest functional amino acids, theanine. The level of theanine in tea roots was much higher than in leaves, which wa...
